Who are we ?
Want to know a little more about your hosts? Some introductions are in order. We are Julia and Baptiste accompanied by our son Aubin who is 4 years old and loves tractors and our faithful Leika, 8 years old, who also loves tractors.
Just forty years old and after a confinement, we realised that we were longing for another life, far from the city and from our jobs in the digital and craft industries. We had always dreamed of living in the countryside without ever really daring to do so, and now, thanks to La Petite Auberge, we’re there.
We fell in love with this pretty property and its 3 gîtes on the outskirts of the village, which we moved into at the end of 2021. The space is great, the house has a lot of character and we hope to share this place with our family, friends and guests. We have many ideas and desires to improve the place and make it, we hope, a real little paradise.
Our approach
Since Aubin’s arrival, we have begun a transition to a healthier lifestyle in an environmentally responsible way. As part of this, we have put things in place to reduce our impact and that of the gĂ®tes on the environment.
We are trying to reduce the use of fossil fuels. This includes changing our heating system and insulating the attic, which we plan to do in 2023.
We collect rainwater to water our plants and fill the swimming pool.
We are lucky in this respect, the Dordogne department is a forerunner in waste recycling. Just about everything is recycled here.
Recycling bins with explanations are available in each gite as well as a compost bin.
Don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any questions.
We try to source a large quantity of eco-friendly household products to reduce costs and waste, so here are the products you will find in our gîtes:
- Laundry : Savons Arthur
- White vinegar, black soap and Marseille soap : Marius Fabre
- Dishwashing product : Comme avant bio
- Biodegradable utensils
Gaelle Besse soap can be used for both body and hair. Its composition is perfume-free with a reduced number of ingredients.
Dans la démarche de réduction de notre empreinte carbone et parce que In the process of reducing our carbon footprint and because we have so many good products in the area, we will be happy to recommend our good local producers, all within a 30 km radius of La Petite Auberge.

We would like La Petite Auberge to become an “LPO Refuge”. In this process, we volunteer to welcome, protect and promote nature. To do so, we commit ourselves to signing the charter of the Ligue de la Protection des Oiseaux and to :
- Create conditions conducive to the life of the soil, fauna and wild flora
- Preserve my Refuge from all types of pollution
- Reduce my impact on the environment
