Discover the region
We suggest you discover another aspect of the PĂ©rigord – that of the bastides, the “new” towns of the Middle Ages, with the splendid Monpazier as its jewel, considered to be the most beautiful bastide in the great South-West. This PĂ©rigord is also a place for epicureans, where the region’s star products rub shoulders with the delicious wines of Bergerac-Duras. Finally, it is the PĂ©rigord of Cyrano, with the town of Bergerac displaying an unequalled panache!
Rehabilitation
The Citole windmill in Sadillac
Built in 1765, this windmill was abandoned for many years before the commune became the owner in 2012. Since then, a group of very active volunteers have come together in the association “Les Amis du Moulin de Citole Ă Sadillac” with the aim of safeguarding and enhancing this witness to milling activity in the Bergerac region. Their ambition was not only to renovate and rehabilitate the windmill, but also to carry out an educational project based on the concept of “from grain to bread” and to contribute to the development of rural tourism in the southern Bergerac region. A must-see!
